17 The Star Flower Tutorial

Janae, I wasn't kidding when I was talking on the phone with you yesterday. I need you to get married and have a baby, and I need that baby to be a girl. That way we can obsessively make baby headbands together! Muahahaha! Ok maybe I can wait. Impatiently though. So until that time. Jade and Julianna. I know your spoiled, and I will make these for your girls anyways but I thought I would give you a tutorial because I think their fun to make. (but I'm flower making fool!)

So instead of going to bed the other night like I should have, I made up this little number. So whatcha gonna do is:
Cut out 3 large flowers and 3 medium flowers from your fabric of choice.
040
Fold the circle in half, and then in half again....
041042
Then cut both sides into a point so it looks like this...
046
You should have 4 layers. Take the top layer and pull it to the left while taking the second layer and pull it to the right....
049

So it fans out and looks like this....
056

Snip a tiny off the bottom, and then your are going to put a dab of glue there...
058059
And then glue onto a felt circle that's 2/3 the size of your original large circle...
061062063

The 3 large circles should make the bottom layer. Then repeat the steps with the medium circles on glue on top of your first layer.

Then glue on a button and attach to headband or whatever your little hearts desire :)

Can you believe this little munchkin is one? Where did the time go!
