I think it was the Fourth of July

It's the last weekend to go grab a new look for the Fourth of July! No worries, I'll help you out. :) The Fourth of July is one of my favorite times to get dressed up. And guess what?! I even have a good song for you, too. :) Don't be afraid to dance while you're listening...I just can't resist.

Okay! So here we have an amazing shirt from Forever21. It'll be hot so I prefer shirts like this that aren't so tight and a little more flowing. And it's so patriotic! Oh yeeah!
Gotta have some cute blue jean cut-offs to go with it, of course. :) Also from Forever21, but you can find them everywhere. And to top it all off, a blue anchor! It's the perfect touch to your look. Again, from Forever21. I'm stoked for the Fourth of July and I hope you are, too!! You're gonna look fabulous! ;)
And take just a sec to see our GIVEAWAY + LOVE CHALLENGE! :D

Chalk.

My favorite thing about summertime is CHALK! When I'm being a couch potato, sitting in front of the TV, eatin' chips... I feel gross. That's where chalk comes in handy! It gives me a reason to go outside and enjoy the summer! I get down on my hands and knees with my nieces and nephews and let my imagination run wild across the sidewalk. I love it. I also found out that it can be such an amazing prop for photos!

I'm always trying to find something or somewhere new to take photos of my lil' babies. Chalk can be completely different everytime, but all in your own backyard! Kirianna is my cute little chalk buddy.
You can personalize it to the specific little person who happens to be sitting by it, like my sweet niece, Rosalie. :)
When they want to play pretend, chalk can help you in so many ways! For instance, Chloe wanted to be Woody from Toy Story. So, I drew her a cowboy hat.

It can put a twist to the pictures you take of your kids. These are simple drawings, but they make the photos so much more fun, especially to the kids. Just one more way to enjoy your summer. :)

Happy Juneteenth!

HAPPY JUNETEENTH (Freedom Day)
(Juneteenth 1900)

My sisters and I love holidays, no matter how big or small. So, along with Father's Day we are excited to be able to share Juneteenth with you.

Imagine June 19, 1865: It's been over two years since Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, three days before the last shot of the Civil war is about to be fired.  You're in Galveston, Texas standing in front of Ashton Villa as Union General Gordon Granger  reads from the balcony,

"The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation
from the Executive of the United State, all slaves are free...."

While slaves were being freed across the U.S., Texas was the last of the Confederate states to receive word of this news. The happiness they must have felt to be able to start a life of their own!  It was such an important step for our country and I feel so very blessed to live in a Country where we can all have equal rights and opportunities.

Easy Jam Recipe

My mom and I went to Costco the other day, and guess what they had a plethora of?? RASBERRIES! And that made me think of one of my all time favorite movies, Thoroughly Modern Millie!!! We always like to have a good movie on while we're making jam. I HIGHLY recommend this one. Here's a clip of why I thought of it.

Anywhoo, back to the main purpose of this post! WE MADE JAM!! Actually, my mom mostly made it while I took photographs...but that's beside the point. :) The point is, this jam is DELISH and really easy to make! Here's the ingredients.

You can use any sort of fruit actually. We're just partial to rasberries and strawberries.

So, all you have to do is open the box of MCP Premium Fruit Pectin and the measurements and instructions are inside. The basic idea of it is you mash up the fruit. We have this handy chopper from Pampered Chef that works magic!

Next, you pour in the correct amounts of lemon juice and the box of pectin and stir.

Stir every five minutes for a half hour. After the half hour is up, add correct amounts of sugar and light corn syrup. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Gage, my nephew, has a sense for good food and always ends up in the kitchen when my mom is making some. ;)

Pour into some plastic containers.

Let them sit in room temperature for 24 hours and then put them in the freezer til you're ready to chow down some pb&j's or maybe some toast.

ENJOY! :D

Pack Up!

PICTURE THIS! A teenage girl with crazy red hair, dancing uncontrollably with her giant headphones on, all while vacuuming the house on a Saturday morning. You guessed it. That's me! I L O V E music, fashion, dancing...you name it. I'm attracted to all sorts of it. That's why my sisters come to me whenever they need some new tunes. Along with the songs, I get loads of inspiration from the music videos. This music video I'm sharing with you today is of one of my very favorite singers, ELIZA DOOLITTLE! I bought her new album not too long ago, and I love Every. Single. Song. How often does that happen?? Not often for me, anyway. The song, fashion, and dancing are all faaaantastic in this video!

She is adorable, right?? On to fashion. FOREVER 21 is my favorite place in the world to shop. They have everything. Did you notice the cute romper Eliza was wearing? Check. Jewelry? Check. Shoes? Hair? Check and check. To show you that you don't have to be a rich singer to look like this, I made up an outfit that is awesome AND affordable. All from FOREVER 21.

This amazing place has rompers up the wahzoo. They all average around $15-$20. You can mix and match them with a shirt underneath, maybe a jacket over, some leggings possibly. You never know what will be cute until you try it. It's also nice to wear over a swimming suit when you're off to the pool.

Accessories from FOREVER 21 are the most inexpensive accessories you will ever find. These all average from $1.50-$9.80, from bracelets to hats, and everything in between. They are probably the most stylish you'll ever find, too. I love peacock feathers and I thought it'd be amazing with the romper above.

I'd also put this ring with it because it's amazing and I also love pearls.
I am a tall person as it is, and heels just make me abnormally tall, so I like to stick to flats as much as possible. I personally think rompers look best with this type of shoe, anyway. I got a pair for about $7.50.

One more thing. I always like to add something in my hair. We are going to come out with some new headbands and clips soon so don't go too far! ;)

And there you have it. An Eliza Doolittle outfit for just about $25-$30. And a sweet song to dance around to. Not too shabby in my book. Visit Forever21.com if there isn't a store near you.
