Happy Birthday Julianna!

Julianna Julianna. The cutest big sister in the world. We were all the lucky ones because all of us got to have you in our lives the moment we were born and we had some super fun time! Our only regret is that we all grew taller than you so you can't swing us around dancing anymore. You are the most incredible mom to the 3 funniest sweet kids ever! What would we do without you? There would be no one to burst out laughing at every single joke we crack no matter how bad! You are such an incredible writer and we can't wait to see what you do next because it's always amazing!

<3 you more than anything "little" sister!!!

Mama Odie Inspired Lanterns

What did we do on our little Presidents Day vacation? Well…we actually kinda had some Marti Gras fun instead. I know that’s probably bad, we should have maybe been learning about Washington or something, but my little ones happened to be watching The Princess and the Frog and before we knew it we were all wrapped up in the spirit of the movie. Mama Odie has to be one of my favorite characters, she makes me smile and her bottle lanterns caught my eye and I had to have some too.

So, we made some! These were great because I just used what we had lying around the houses. I came up with a mason jar and some empty Smuckers jars. Some beading wire (from a previously failed project), beads, paint, and glitter.

First we painted the jars lightly so that the light would shine through when they were lit. Then used the beading wire to create handles and beads to liven them up a bit. We also had fun with the wire, twisting it different ways and braiding it.

Mason jars are the best. There’s no limit to how creative you can get with them!
What did you do on President’s Day?
